Award Categories and Criteria
Corporate Partner of the Year Award
·Nominee must have been instrumental in supporting the NAWBO Kentucky chapter with financial resources and corporate personnel participation that was beneficial to women business owners.
· Nominee may be self-nominated.
· Nominee may not be a prior winner of an Epic Corporate Partner award.
· Nominee may not be a member of the Epic Committee’s Awards subcommittee or the Chair of the Epic Award Committee.
· Nominee is required to be a current Corporate Partner of the National Association of Women Business Owners Kentucky ChapteNAWBO Member of the Year Award
·Demonstrates support and participates in activities that strengthen the presence of NAWBO in the public and private sector.
· Created innovative and effective changes in NAWBO.
· Demonstrated strength and support of NAWBO’s vision and mission.
· Nominee may be self-nominated.
· Nominee may not be a prior winner of this award.
· Nominee may not be a member of the Epic Awards committee.
Next – Gen Woman Business Owner of the Year Award
· Nominee must be 30 or under in age.
· Has started a business and is actively involved in running that business or is seriously thinking about starting a business.
· Demonstrated initiative and creativity in overcoming obstacles in her business or future business.
· Demonstrated civic and community involvement and contribution while in college.
· Demonstrated professional accomplishments and contributions academically.
· Nominee may be self-nominated.
· Nominee may not be a prior winner of this award
· Nominee may not be a member of the Epic Awards subcommittee or the Chair of the Epic Committee.
· Nominee is NOT required to be a member of the National Association of Women Business Owners.
Public Policy Catalyst of the Year Award
· Nominee must have been instrumental in effecting change in local, state or national public policy that was beneficial to women business owners.
· Nominee may be self-nominated.
· Nominee may not be a prior winner of the EPIC Public Policy or Advocacy Award.
· Nominee may not be a member of the Epic committee’s Awards subcommittee or the Chair of the Epic Awards Committee.
· Nominee is NOT required to be a member of the National Association of Women Business Owners.Woman Business Owner of the Year Award
· Nominee must be a sole proprietor, partner or corporate director with daily management responsibility.
· Demonstrated excellence as a woman business owner.
· Demonstrated initiative and creativity in overcoming obstacles in her business.
· Demonstrated civic and community involvement and contribution.
· Demonstrated professional accomplishments and contributions.
· Nominee may be self-nominated.
· Nominee may not be a prior winner of this award
· Nominee may not be a member of the Epic Awards subcommittee or the Chair of the Epic Awards Committee.
· Nominee is NOT required to be a member of the National Association of Women Business Owners.
Epic Award for the Legacy Award
· This award will be determined by the NAWBO Kentucky Board of Directors
· Winner of this award has performed in her area of expertise to be recognized as achieving excellence in her field
· Winner of this award has demonstrated effectiveness in promoting other women
· Winner of this award has demonstrated the ability to break barriers and achieve where women have had difficulty in achieving
· Winner of this award has held leadership roles in community and civic organizations that benefit her community locally or statewide.
·Winner of this award has been a business owner for over 25 years
