About our speakers:

Sheila A. Mixon is Senior Vice President of the Business Development & Entrepreneurship Department for the Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio (ULGSO) where she provides vision, leadership, organizational governance and strategic direction for the department. Mixon has 41 years in business development experience; the financial services industry and not-for-profit organizations. She has also been the recipient of several awards including the Small Business Development Center of Excellence and Innovation Award, 2016 Women’s Business Champion by NAWBO, and Women of Color 2017 Hall of Fame Inductee as well as 2017 Women of Influence Awardee.

Cathy Stafford is the President and founder of Ad-Venture Promotions, an advertising agency in Lexington, Ky. She is also a former President of the Lexington Chapter of NAWBO. She has launched two different multi-million dollar advertising specialty companies. Cathy has worked in every aspect of the company including assisting customers, processing orders, paying the bills, and personally delivering orders. In her opinion, one of the single strongest decisions she made as a business owner was becoming a certified WBE through WBEC.
