August 25th 4-6pm EST - Register Now!

Join NAWBO KY in Support of the Centennial of the 19th Amendment. Participate via Zoom or watch on Facebook Live!

This was a significant milestone which required a lengthy and difficult struggle to achieve. Victory took decades of protests, courage and dedication.

While the 19th Amendment guaranteed women the right to vote in the United States, there were also suffragists combating both racism and sexism long after the 19th Amendment was passed.

On August 25th, we will openly discuss how the movement forever changed America, expanded representative democracy and inspired other popular movements for constitutional change and reform. We will also have honest reflection on the complexity and tensions over race that remains part of the ongoing story of the Nineteenth Amendment and its legacies.

-Hear from guest speaker Marsha Weinstein who is a civic activist with a passion for women’s history, Amanda Briede, curator of suffrage exhibit at Frazier and Keisha Swan will be doing a quick overview of VoteNOWKy.

- Listen to our panel of board members discuss and open up for audience questions

Come, network, mix and mingle and meet new members of our board including our new president, Sarah Waskey!
