NAWBO Kentucky’s mission is to empower women by providing support, resources, and opportunities to propel women entrepreneurs into economic, social, and political spheres of power worldwide, at all stages of growth. It’s about women helping women, forming partnerships, and learning from each other.

NAWBO Grow was formed by NAWBO Kentucky as an answer to this call for action. Women often struggle at each stage in their businesses. Whether the business is “new-born”, “middle-aged”, or “silver”, there are different challenges to be addressed. NAWBO Grow addresses each of these stages and gives women the resources necessary to progress in a positive direction from one stage to the next.

This stage of NAWBO Grow is focused on businesses that are newly established or in the planning stage. It is a nine month program that focuses on a different strategic topic each month that is vital to your business. Attendance, homework, and mentorship (provided by a NAWBO member), are all necessary for course completion. The group meets once per month for half a day. At the end of “Survive”, a course of action for the initial start-up of your business should be in place. There is a monetary fee of $900. This fee does include NAWBO membership and perks as an “Introductory Member”. Applications are currently being accepted for the next class of Grow:Survive participants. Sessions will begin in June 2019.

This stage of NAWBO Grow is focused on businesses that are “middle-aged”. The business is off the ground, but the owner or CEO is having trouble stepping outside her business to actually work on the business. This group meets once per month for a half day and has a moderator that facilitates the session. Membership is required, but open to company Senior Level Management by approval. Guest speakers often visit the group for specific topics. The group is non-competing and confidential between its members. There is a monetary cost of $400 per month. Applications are currently being accepted for an existing group.

The third stage of NAWBO Grow is called Thrive. Thrive is a members-only group designed for owners of larger, more established businesses (silver businesses). Contact Robin Miller, NAWBO KY President or Alicia Ariatti, NAWBO Grow Chair, for information regarding the exciting changes to our Thrive programming. You must be a business owner, as this group is by invitation only.
